Colorado Velodrome AssociationCVA Annual Banquet!It's time for the Annual Banquet! The Colorado Velodrome Association will hold its banquet on Sunday, October 12th. Come, eat, visit, VOTE. The banquet will be at the home of Noreen Tyson-Landis and Mark Tyson, which is 236 Writers Way #200, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. The festivities will begin at 3:00 PM and go until 7:00 PM. Please note that this is for adults and members of the CVA only. Minors will be allowed only if they are members! (Sorry, but the house isn't child-proof.) The agenda for the evening will include:
Note that, when anything needs voting by the membership, the CVA bylaws specify that it's done through the member clubs. If a club has more CVA members, then the club can get more votes. This applies to the items above (officer/BOD members, and yearly dues). With this in mind, the current member clubs are:
The CVA board and officers wish to increase the yearly membership dues from $50 to $60. This is a small amount, but it will allow us to keep pace with increased costs that we have encountered. We have six positions on the board of directors that are becoming vacant. If you (or someone you know of) are interested in helping direct the CVA in 2009, please send your nominations to cvatrack@gmail.com or use the contact page to submit a nomination. Please include your contact information as well as the contact information of the person being nominated. Please let us know if you plan to attend. Use the email address above or the contact page. This will help us plan out how much food and beer to have on hand. We would not like to run out of either. Top Five Reasons to Join the CVA5. Eligible for Rider Of The Year competition and prizes.4. Discounts on entry fees for Tuesday and Thursday night events (you pay $5 less per night than non-CVA members) and the opportunity to purchase monthly or season passes for the track usage fee. 3. Assignment of a permanent racing number for the season. 2. Opportunity to purchase 6-paks, which further discounts registration fees for Tuesday and Thursday night series. 1. And new for this year, the opportunity (after the first week of racing) to register on line prior to leaving for the track and avoid any need to even check in at the velodrome! Arrive when you want, and race in the categories in which you registered earlier in the day. Additionally, anyone who completes the membership form and sends it in to cvatrack@gmail.com or mails it to CVA, 236 Writers Way #200, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 by May 25th will receive one free night of racing. On the first night that you come to race at the velodrome, please plan to bring your check for $50 (made out to the CVA), sign a waiver and pick up your season number. At that time, you may choose to purchase a 6-pak (a $36 value for the price of $30 each - Tuesday nights require one punch, Thursday nights require two punches) and begin registering on line. Our promoter will keep track of your "virtual" 6-pak punches and when you run out of credit, you'll be reminded to stop by and purchase another 6-pak. So... download and complete the CVA membership form today and send it electronically or through the mail. Bring your check during the first week of racing (June 9) and purchase your 6-pak to begin on line registration. You may never have to see another registration line again on Tuesday or Thursday nights! Oh, and don't forget to encourage your club to join the CVA for just $35 per year. Member clubs are eligible for BAT awards, may be included as a promoting club on a CVA clinic or race, and determine the future direction of the CVA.
